I like the feeling like I'm getting a deal and want the most bang for my buck! hahaha
So I already have my flatscreen, which I already feel like upgrading after only a year because now the have the new 4k out and mine's "only" 1080p and so I hear the 3D technology is more advanced with each new model. Anyways it's good for now but I need to upgrade my speakers, especially since the built-in speakers in the LED Samsung are I believe are only 10w and don't provide bass or that rich sound.
I don't use surround sound speakers much but when I do it's so much better, especially when I listen to music.
So I the setup I have now is starting to not act right. It's a 2 speaker setup with a subwoofer and one of the speakers are going and the switch that controls the sub doesn't work right. But it always had awesome sound out of the speakers and bass would shake the house. lol
Connections are very important I guess and if I touch or move the wiring from my sub to the speakers, either the speaker will mute or get scratchy. I bought radioshack conmnectors to route the audio to my radio and my tv and used to use my ...vcr lol has a makeshift reciever to route the audion between my tv, ps3, radio, and laptop. I can post some diagrams if anyone;s curiousm just make sure not to cheap out on the connectors. There are alot of good deals online for gold plated wiring.
So the system I had before is by Acoustic Authority A-3780 model.
I grabbed this photos from online. This small system packed a punch and back in the day, 2002-2005, this was like $80 or less and was perfect for your music and surround sound watching movies.
I was looking to upgrade and still don't feel like spending hundreds and don't feel the need to have speakers all around my living room.
Keep in mind I don't wanna dump too much money into an audio system because I need to have money for a new laptop and tv and camera soon lol
But if you do have the money I did some research already and would def get this setup by Yamaha.
It's the most bang for you're buck. The
Yamaha YHT799UBL High Quality Durable 115W 5.1 Channel USB Home Theater
comes with a high end reciever and above average speakers. I would def get this setup if this was all I wanted or if they added an extra 0 at the end of my paycheck by accident one week lol.
So if you can afford this and looking to get a simliar setup I'd def go with this model. I like the 5 channel over the 7 because it's only my living room...not a theater. A speaker upfront near my tv with the sub, 2 speakers behind me and 2 in front I think is more than good to give you that awesome surround sound experience.
This setup is nice too because you can control it with your tablet or smartphone and it will act as the hub to link up all your devices with 5 hdmi inputs I would be able to connect my 3D Samsung Blu-ray, PS3, U-verse DVR, my laptop, and more.
But I wanna spend less but don't wanna sacrifice quality.
So I come across this:
Samsung - 2.1-Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer
Awesome little setup packing 280 W with a 120 W sub.
According to a review on CNET on my Acoustic Authority A-3780 it only had 40 W speakers and a 100 W sub so I should be doubling the power here. I don't need to do all the wiring for the speakers as I would have to with the Yamaha 5.1 and should still get the full effect with this nice 2.1 soundbar. And with this powerful wireless sub I can move it around the room and not have a bunch a wires everywhere.
Also this is on sale at bestbuy today for $220. So I'm gonna check this out and see what happens.
